Weeding Woes

Don't worry...I haven't started taking heroin and just have really bad aim. As part of the blessing to live in our apartment, we work on weeding, mowing the lawn, and keeping the yard and property looking nice. I spent all morning weeding the cacti (yes, they planted cacti!) around the house and got some pretty nasty cuts from it. Lesson learned: wearing a long-sleeved shirt while weeding in between cacti is more important that possibly getting a tan! Although, I think the results around the house speak for themselves, and perhaps it was all worth it!

Les Miserables at Phoenix Theatre

On February 25, my sister-in-law, Megan, contacted us to see if we were available that evening to attend the presentation at Phoenix Theatre of Les Miserables. I was so excited! We sang several of the songs when I was in high school chorus, and I have the Broadway soundtrack on my iPod and listen to it often. So I was tickled all day to get to finally see the show. My handsome man and I arrived to find Joe and T'liese waiting outside the theatre. Megan had all of our tickets and was right behind us. The show was incredible, and the talent was unbelievable! They sounded just as good (if not better, in some cases) than the Broadway version! I couldn't believe what gifted people were performing for us! Megan invited some of the girls from her Young Women's group. The show lasted three hours and got a little long "in the third quarter," as Joe put it, but it was really neat to see. John and I scooted home to Mesa and arrived around 11:30 PM. It was a lovely evening, and I love doing things that make me feel like a cultured person!

I love Mesa, Arizona

I moved from Phoenix to Mesa last summer, a few months before John and I were married in October. We still live in Mesa, and I love it! This past Saturday, we attended a neighborhood rodeo up in Lehi in northern Mesa. It was so much fun! They had a petting zoo for the kids, pony rides, greased-pig wrestling, and rescue riding. The horses were beautiful, and some of the kids were pretty good riders! They had a huge tent where they were smoking fresh BBQ beef. We spend a few hours wandering around and enjoying all the day had to offer. Of course, I forgot to take my camera. It was a lovely day out in the gorgeous Arizona weather! I love this place!
