It’s always hard when time in Bremerton comes to an end. I’ve been here two short nights and head home this evening. Just in time to get packed for a nine-day trip early the very next morning!
I even had a chance to attend church while visiting this weekend. The Manette Ward was so nice, welcoming, and friendly. I felt right at home and really enjoyed the three-hour block.
Soon it was time to head to the airport to get ready for our 2.5-hour flight home.
But you can’t go home on empty stomachs, right?
I love the mountains in the distance.
Lunch indeed! I was so excited to get a little steak and some salad. I don’t know why, but steakhouse salads always taste the best!
And today certainly didn’t disappoint with crispy lettuce, freshly-shredded cheese, croutons, tomatoes, and red onions. With a little bit of ranch dressing on top, I consider this salad nearly perfect.
Adding hard-boiled eggs would have made it completely perfect, by the way.
To my great disappointment, the tiny steak was $16. And I just didn’t want to pay that much for a little meal before heading home. So I opted for the chicken quesadilla from the lunch menu and pretended that I wasn’t eating at a steakhouse.
It was good, but most of it went home to Hubby for him to enjoy.
By the time we got to the airport, it was around 1:30 PM. Within just a few hours, we would be loaded up and on our way home!
As you can see, they don’t get a ton of jets visiting to Bremerton. We were the only ones on the ramp for this particular weekend.
Everyone else was really missing out, though.
Because of the lower ceilings, the traffic pattern wasn’t quite as busy as when we arrived on Friday. But a few brave souls were out and about.
The view from Gladys is pretty impressive since she sits so high. I love it. Even though she seats as many people as Beechjets and Citation CJ4s, she looks much bigger because of how tall she is.
I’m a Phenom 300 snob now, by the way.
It was fun to watch this gorgeous helicopter land in front of the café. A little old man piloting the thing helped his wife down, and they went inside to enjoy a probably-yummy lunch.
Wouldn’t that be fun? Just hop into your private helicopter and head for lunch on the other side of the Puget Sound?
He had a good landing, too. He must know what he was doing. And he must be rich.
Soon, we were in the same sky and on our way home. With five people and one dog in back, the flight went quickly with some gorgeous views along the way.
This is one of the best views of Bremerton that I’ve ever witnessed.
We eventually popped out of the clouds and had a mostly-clear flight home. It’s fun to fly past clouds like this because you realize how incredibly fast you really are going!
Rocket! Zooooooooooom!
This was the end of the Puget Sound as we made our way southwest towards home. It was such a nice flight. I was anxious to get home so I could do laundry for my flight the next morning.
Spending a few hours with Hubby would be nice, too, since I wouldn’t see him for over a week. Poor guy. Or lucky guy, depending on who you ask!
Are we over Antarctica? Sure looks like it.
And then my favorite part of the entire flight began happening…breathtaking sunsets to enjoy. Look at all of the color layers of the mountains below. Isn’t that gorgeous?!
Throw a wing into the shot, and you have something truly fantastic. I have the best office views in the world.
The sunsets last a little longer from 41,000 feet, so this was a real treat. I just hope that I didn’t burn my camera’s eye by taking so many pictures of the sun tonight.
We are getting closer to evening as the sun completely disappeared behind the mountains in the distance. If I was a poet, I would write something really witty and rhyming right now.
Aren’t you glad that I’m not a poet?!
The Valley of the Sun came into view, but it was more The Valley of the Sunset on this particular evening. I didn’t mind. We touched down around 7:00 PM local, and I arrived in my garage about an hour later.
Two loads of laundry to do…will it all get done in time to pack at 5:00 AM?
What a pretty view to greet me when coming home! It was a nice weekend in Bremerton, but not it’s time to prep for nine days on the road. More fun flying adventures to come!
Happy Weekend!
